Paint plywood in a gray tone, such as 2121-20 Steen Wool by Benjamin Moore. The paint should have a pearl or semi-gloss finish for durability.

Mount the plywood on the wall (ask hardware store for proper mounting instructions). This kit by Mountain Equipment Co-op shown below is a great way to get your home wall started. It includes virtually everything except the plywood. The hold selection varies from kit to kit (no choice), but each kit includes a balanced blend of big, medium and small holds, screw-on hand and foot holds, micro bolt-on crimpers, really big roof jugs, and positive-to-grab little juglets.

How cool is the half court design painted on the floor and the mounted basketball head board?

Benjamin Moore color “AF-155 Weimaraner” a warm and cozy gray based taupe that works great with cool accents (such as blue, turquoise and green) but also with deep warm tones (such as chocolate, rust, gold and red).

A great elegant color if you are looking for a neutral dining room.

This wall color sets off beautifully against white and off whites.

A favorite when it comes to exterior paint colours, it gives siding a whole new look (see above). It also looks great on garage doors on brick homes, it picks up on the grout colour.

These rooms were done by one of our fav guys, David Ottenbrite from Doctor Decor.

By painting the walls a nice soft gray/taupe (try Hc-172), there is only a soft contrast with the painted millwork/brick wall that is a warm white (try OC-117).  This tone on tone effect visually creates a larger space, and softens the look more than just using one tone of off white.

There is a focal wall painted in a gray/blue tone (try 2123-30) this adds a punch of colour…but can also be painted out over time if needed.

As for the sofa colour, you are completely open-taupe, charcoal, chocolate, black, purple…you name it!
