welcoming wallpaper
An entrance is a space that usually has limited amounts of character. Paint can elevate this room to new heights, but nothing compared to the colourful pattern of wallpaper. We found a few pictures to inspire you, but come into the store and take a look at our wallpaper books. So many great options and there is one perfect pattern waiting for you.
This wallpaper is designed by famous designer Kelly Wearstler, it’s simplicity creates a great focal point.
When using wallpaper, never forget that it becomes an instant focal point. From there on, furniture can be white are all one neutral colour and the room won’t fall flat.
Paint out an old shelf and/or mirror to match your wallpaper scheme. The results will be stunning and a very in-expensive solution, you will love it.
Last but not least, putting wallpaper on the risers of your stairs. This idea is so creative and a big way to add drama to your entrance.
“The lovely thing about wallpaper in an entry is that it gives the feeling that the space goes on and on-continuing beyond what you can see- whereas with paint your eye stops at the edges.” -Rita Koning

Create the foyer you want…
4 tips for creating a gorgeous foyer
1. Try painting your foyer a different colour from the rooms adjacent to it. Warm colours appear inviting and cool tones can create a calming space. A scrubbable paint is perfect for foyers and hallways, when people come into your home they usually lean against the wall and take their shoes off. Try our Aura paint in either an eggshell or matte finish.
2. Lighting is very important in the entrance way, make sure there is adjustable brightness. Not extremely bright, but well lit and welcoming. For a big dose of drama and high style opt for wallpaper and a large lighting fixture that makes a statement. A very important touch is to always add a plant of some kind, to bring in oxygen and new energy. Keep this room always feeling fresh.
3. Hang large mirrors, this will give you a preview of rooms to come by reflecting attractive features of an adjacent room. They will also increase the space and reflect light. We have some amazing mirrors, come into our store today and check out our decor items.
4. Create a Wall of Life, you could display a gallery wall of artwork, photographs or showcase a beautiful piece of artwork/sculpture on a foyer table.
birch tree mural
What a great way to add interest to a boring yellow foyer. It makes a room so much more complete when the mural wraps on to the ceiling too. We love the birch trees that were hand painted by a Canadian (Oakville,ON) artist named Chase of Milk Your Mind.

Create a focal point in a small space to visually open it up. We love the use of a dark chocolate focal wall as this point of interest. Install some artwork against that wall…instantly finishing the room!
