This is such a classic look and easy to achieve, especially for small spaces. Did you know that dark colors in a small room will blur the boundaries and look even bigger?!
We love this idea for a library or den, even a living room. It’s simple, everything is painted out the same colour. Shelves, mantel on fireplace, walls, trim/doors.
2131-30 Lead Gray by Benjamin Moore, is a moody, midnight shade of deep grey that adds a layer of masculinity to a library or gentleman’s study.
This high gloss look is very european and is so reflective that the colour will look even lighter in the space.
This dining room is sophisticated and laid back with it’s rich blue walls and light drift wood furnishings.
No space suited for this deep moody blue, why not paint out some built shelves or free standing shelving unit?
Finding colours that make us feel calm and focused isn’t easy. Do you like a deep hue that is rich and refined? Or ones that are airy and bring in natural light?

Dare to go bold.
Meg’s client had a boring light yellow office and was inspired by her new beachy artwork to make a big change in her office. They chose sandy off white and beachy turquoise paint colours to pull together her new space. They then designed a custom built in unit with a built in desktop, this would house all of her equipment and keep the room clutter free. Soft creamy and beachy accessories all brought the space together.
Thanks to our designer friends Meg & Marisa at Joy Studio for letting us share it.
Offices are rooms that can welcome any colour. We have decided to show you a soft blue painted office (CC-730 by Benjamin Moore) with black and white accents. Another great option for your home office is wallpaper. We love this dark purple and one by well known designer/artist Amy Butler in the “fountain” pattern.
