Gray Islands

Is your kitchen white, bland and boring? Updating hardware can help and give it an instant facelift, but so can painting out your kitchen island in a gray tone. You probably notice it happening a lot in kitchen design these days, because it really does add a lot of style to a kitchen.Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 3.39.37 AMTry CSP-45 Street Chic by Benjamin Moore

The Victorian also has a gray island in the kitchen, that contrast with the stark white wall cabinets. The gray exterior paint, and the island paint are the same color: C2's Titanium, but with different percentages.

7 Tester Pot Projects

Are you thinking of making some colourful changes in your home but don’t know how to start? Sometimes it can be as easy as finding inspiration and purchasing a few tester pots.  Benjamin Moore Sample Pots are available in any colour.

Yep…all you need is a few tester pots of paint, brushes and a roll of masking tape.

Half Dipped Furniture

The dipped effect can transform old an boring chair in no time. It looks good on practically any furniture with legs, it’s also a clever way to make mismatched chairs feel artfully eclectic. We suggest sticking to one shade or go for a palette of pastel tones for a pretty vibe.

We are enjoying this half-painted dipped look on furniture…including art. Painting over a framed picture may feel slightly ‘wrong’, but consider it this way: it gives creepy charity shop paintings a new lease of life and your walls a quirk at the same time – win-win.

Baskets are the saviours of miscellaneous clutter, they’re a staple of the modern home. Turn a plain off-the-shelf design into an artisanal piece of storage with a few vibrant shades of paint, some masking tape and a few brushes. Not sure what colour? Find something to find inspiration from in your space and go from there.

A fusion of two of the biggest interiors trends of the moment – indoor greenery and paint dipping. Terracotta’s earthy quality looks striking when contrasted with a crisp monochrome palette – mix up patterns and techniques to get a visually interesting display.

Tree Stumps

Does your room need some texture in the form of a rustic tree stump table? With a little clean up, a light sanding and a coat of paint you have yourself a unique side table-come-stool.

Dresser Drawers

Tone, on tone, on tone…this is a unique way to transform an old dresser or night table. It’s even easier if the base is white, this project involves the drawers only. For this project we recommend choosing colours at least 2 shades away from each other, otherwise you may not see the right amount of contrast.

HC-115 Newburyport Blue

“Blues can dominate and overpower a room, but not Newburyport Blue HC-115. It is subtle yet strong enough to anchor a room or even the exterior of a house. I love the results I have achieved in intimate cozy room walls where contrasting art and drapes stand out elegantly.” —Moises Esquenazi

By painting the walls teal it’s dramatic and fresh, by bringing in 3 main accent colours (in this case muted red) there is a sense of life and coziness. It’s amazing what you can do to a room with a little or a lot of colour.
